The UEFI Forum is a technology consortium that champions firmware innovation through industry collaboration of technology leaders, while standardizing an interface that simplifies platform initialization and firmware bootstrap operations. The UEFI Forum’s extensible, globally-recognized Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) and Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) specifications bring new functionality and enhanced security to the evolution of devices, firmware and operating systems. The specifications also facilitate interoperability between platforms and systems – complying with next-generation technologies.
In the State of the UEFI, UEFI Forum President Mark Doran will demystify standardized firmware by providing an overview of the UEFI Forum, a status update on the UEFI and ACPI specifications, the UEFI Forum’s working group structure, Code First approach and EDK2 process. Attendees will learn how current members can become involved in the development of future specifications and how adjacent communities can collaborate with the UEFI Forum. Finally, attendees will learn about key firmware industry updates about security, post-quantum crypto and more.
