DESCRIPTION:The UEFI Forum is a global technology consortium that advances
firmware innovation through industry collaboration while developing and m
aintaining the Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI)\, Platform Ini
tialization (PI)\, and Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) s
pecifications. Together\, these standards provide the foundation for platf
orm initialization\, firmware bootstrap\, system configuration\, power man
agement\, security\, and operating system interoperability across modern c
omputing platforms.\n\nA key strength of these specifications is their arc
hitecture-neutral design. Today\, UEFI\, PI\, and ACPI are deployed across
  x86\, Arm\, RISC-V\, and LoongArch systems\, helping to enable a consiste
nt software experience across an increasingly diverse hardware ecosystem.\
n\nIn this State of the UEFI session\, UEFI Forum President Dong Wei will
provide an overview of the UEFI Forum\, recent developments in the UEFI\,
PI\, and ACPI specifications\, the Forum’s working group structure\, Cod
e First process. Attendees will learn how organizations and individuals ca
n participate in future specification development and collaborate with the
broader firmware community.\n\nThe session will also highlight ongoing co
llaboration between the UEFI Forum and adjacent open-source communities\,
including the Open Compute Project (OCP) Open Platform Firmware (OPF) Proj
ect\, where Dong serves as a Steering Committee representative. Attendees
will learn about emerging opportunities for synergy between OCP initiative
s such as OpenSFI and UPCI and the UEFI Forum’s standards efforts.\n\nFi
nally\, attendees will receive updates on key industry topics including pl
 atform security\, confidential computing\, post-quantum cryptography\, and
other trends shaping the future of open firmware.
